A renaissance

In early 2022, Michel Bourel and Olivier Mermuys discovered the potential of Château De Roquemont.

In the context of global warming and summer droughts starting earlier and earlier, the geographical location of Château De Roquemont below Saint Emilion on sandier soils allows us to work on different terroirs to produce wines that better meet the new expectations of consumers.

So, in 2022, without wasting any time, Vignobles Bourel restructured Château De Roquemont, a 14-hectare vineyard in Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens, one of the eight communes that make up the jurisdiction of Saint Emilion.

Château De Roquemont is therefore experiencing a renaissance!

The château is located in the Saint Emilion appellation plain, with a privileged view of the bell tower of the monolithic church of this medieval village, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The new owners are very attentive to customer feedback and want to bring a new approach to Saint Emilion with ranges that are more accessible in terms of taste and budget.

Certified High Environmental Value (HVE) level 4, the château adopts sustainable practices such as eliminating herbicides, planting hedges and preserving biodiversity.

On soil rich in clay, silt and rounded pebbles, it produces delicious, refined wines.
